Vision 8 / Zube Impact Report 2026

Impact Report 2026

Update to the 2024 Impact Report — reflects current commitments and distinguishes completed initiatives from those still in progress.

Overview

Welcome to this update to our Impact Report. As a company operating the Zube student laundry brand through Vision 8 Ltd, we recognise the importance of building genuine, verifiable social and environmental practices — and of being transparent about what is fully in place today versus what remains a work in progress.

This report reflects our current position honestly. Some initiatives described in our original 2024 report were forward-looking pledges; where those have not yet been completed, we’ve noted that clearly here rather than restating them as finished achievements.

Our Brands

This report covers Zube (Student Laundry), operated under Vision 8 Ltd. www.studentlaundry.co.uk

Note: Zube’s operating facility, brand trademark, and FY2025 financials currently sit with V9 Limited, a related entity, while Vision 8 Ltd is the certifying entity for this assessment. Facility leases, financials, and brand ownership are in the process of being formally reconciled between entities — see Governance section of the B Corp assessment for full detail.

Our Mission

To revolutionise the laundry experience in the UK by offering a service that prioritises quality, convenience, affordability, and social and environmental responsibility — while championing community wellbeing and mental health awareness.

Our Charitable Giving Commitment

Zube is formally committed to donating a minimum of 2% of annual company revenue to charitable partners each year, calculated on turnover rather than profit. This is our current, active commitment.

In FY2025, this amounted to £5,000 against total revenue of £183,544 — equivalent to 2.72% of revenue, exceeding our published commitment (per V9 Limited’s FY2025 Trading and Profit & Loss Account).

We currently support the following registered charitable partners:

  • Student Minds (Charity No. 1142783) — the UK’s student mental health charity.
  • FRANK Water (Charity No. 1121273) — providing safe water and sanitation to communities in need, supported as a RainMaker Club partner.

Note: an earlier internal draft of this report referenced a different giving structure (£2 per customer registration plus 5% of post-tax profits). Our current, formally published commitment is 2% of revenue — this report reflects that current position.

The Zube Foundation

The Zube Foundation has been established to provide sponsorship and scholarship opportunities to children in developing countries who show academic potential but face significant challenges accessing education. Its model is designed so that once supported children reach adulthood and are able to, they contribute back to the Foundation — helping fund future generations. See studentlaundry.co.uk/zube-foundation for more detail.

Environmental Practices — In Place Today

Water-Efficient Equipment
We use commercial washing machines from LG and Miele, selected in part for their water-efficiency performance.

Cold-Wash Cycles
Used where appropriate for fabric and soil level, reducing water heating energy and water use per load.

Salt-Based Water Filtration
Our facility uses a salt-based water softening/filtration system, reducing limescale build-up, which improves washing performance and machine longevity.

Regular Water Meter Monitoring
We read our water meter regularly to monitor consumption at our facility.

Sponsorship of PBSA News
Zube sponsors PBSA News, an ESG-focused platform for the purpose-built student accommodation sector; in return, PBSA News provides advertising and promotional coverage for Zube. This is a reciprocal commercial and sponsorship relationship.

Environmental Practices — In Progress / Planned
The following initiatives reflect our ambitions and current planning, but are not yet fully implemented. We include them here for transparency about our direction, not as completed achievements:

  • Advanced water recycling systems, including reuse of rinse water between wash cycles — currently in the planning stage.
  • Rainwater harvesting and filtration — planned, not yet implemented.
  • A target to reduce water consumption per laundry cycle by 20% — an aspirational goal, not yet measured or achieved.
  • Switching premises to renewable energy suppliers (e.g. Dyce Energy, Scottish Power) — status in progress; to be confirmed per site.
  • Partnership with an eco-friendly logistics provider (e.g. DPD) for deliveries — status in progress.
  • Tree-planting partnership to offset carbon footprint — status in progress; partner not yet finalised.
  • Transition to recyclable paper laundry bags, paper garment covers, and reusable suit carriers, replacing poly coverings — status in progress.

Where any of the above has since been completed, this report should be updated with the confirming detail (e.g. supplier contract, invoice, or measured result) before being cited as evidence of a completed practice.

Governance — Supplier & Partner Screening
We formalised a Supplier Social & Environmental Screening Policy in July 2026, setting out structured requirements for reviewing significant suppliers on good governance/ethics and third-party certifications. This process is applied at onboarding and reviewed at least annually.

Supporting Our People
We recognise the impact of mental health on individual wellbeing and productivity, and aim to foster a workplace culture of care, flexibility, and open conversation for our team.

Community Engagement
Beyond financial giving, we open our facility to the local community, including free laundry services alongside pool and retro games at our unit, and offer discounted laundry services for disabled students and students from low-income households.

Conclusion

This report reflects our current, honest position: real commitments already in place — our 2% giving commitment, our charitable partnerships, our water-efficient equipment, and our supplier screening policy — alongside a clear-eyed account of initiatives still in progress. We intend to update this report at least annually, replacing planned initiatives with confirmed outcomes as they are achieved.
